Business is about clients.. and now it’s time to go and find some.
Where to find unlimited customers
Let’s look at where a business can find its customers.
The most effective place to find unlimited customers is where they hang out and spend their time. This might be online or offline. Consider your answers to the following questions:
where do my customers go to hang out?
what hobbies do they have?
how do they spend their free time?
what publications do they read?
what blogs do they read?
where do they live?
where do they drink their coffee?
To apply these questions to the online world, think about the following:
what are the social media groups or networking forums for my clients to talk about related topics
what communities are there for this topic? (it might be that you might want to create your own – but we will talk about this another time)
where will people go to talk about this topic, how to solve problems and related issues
Remember that the more specific you get in your answers, the better. You can then target the clients more easily. Make a list of where you may find your clients and save it for use in your marketing calendar that we will be creating later.
Other routes to your clients
You may prefer to reach your clients through other middle people. For example, there are several methods of doing this on the internet that we will cover later. Just to give you some ideas on this:
you could reach your clients through internet marketers who are already connected with your clients.
many brands use influencers who have large followings on Instagram
Some contact list companies may have a list that is specifically for the demographic that you are looking to connect to
Some magazines that your clients will read are a great place to advertise your products and/or service
Other potential clients
In addition to finding end-users there a number of “middlemen” who might also be classified as clients who could sell on your products or services to their customers.
Here are some ideas that you might like to consider in terms of finding new clients, you could work with these people not just as end-users of your products or services but as middlemen or with the creation of a partnership:
government
distributors
schools and parent-teacher associations
community news outlets
fitness centres
housing associations
the local chamber of commerce
social groups such as church, universities etc
A great place to find new ideas of where to find customers is the Yellow Pages or local telephone book. As you page through, look at the categories of business and brainstorm ideas about how they could be your customer. Write down your conclusions as you may want to revisit your ideas later.
There are also many different types of events that you could attend that will be attended by middlemen and possibly your clients:
trade shows
conventions
consumer shows
meetings
local fairs
Look on the popular professional networking site Linked-In for ideas too. Keep thinking about what benefits you can bring to your prospects too. This will aid your marketing process and help in your quest to find unlimited customers.
Another approach is to view where your competitors are advertising. If you keep track of this, then you can discover what’s working for them. Ads that are not working will be retracted.
If you’re looking to find unlimited customers for your business, then know that you can find them, just as long as you go to where they are.
