We’re on Day 2 of our 7 Day Mini Challenge for Mornings. How to Make Your Perfect Morning.
Here’s a question for you. What’s important to you? What’s something that if you did it every day would make a huge difference in your life, but it’s so hard to find the time for it?
Or another way of looking at it is, which good habit do you want to implement that will make a positive impact on your life? This habit might be in the area of your wellbeing such as exercise and healthy eating. Or perhaps it’s meditating or maybe you want to work on an area of your business or your job that you’ve been neglecting. It may be the relationship that you have with your partner or your children, finding time to read or perhaps spending time on your hobby.
Once you’ve identified what it is that you want to focus on or improve, then we can look at how to make it part of your morning routine.
How to make your perfect morning
Now sit back and mentally picture your perfect morning. It isn’t rushed or stressed. It’s a day when you have time for everything on your list. It could be that you have time for a long shower or a bath. Perhaps you want to go for a run before breakfast. The secret to this is to choose something that is going to make a difference to you and how you feel. It might even be working on your side-business or taking the time to promote your business on social media or writing a blog post.
We’re going to work out how to fit it into your morning in another post. The most important thing is to imagine what your ideal morning might look like.
Visualise Your Perfect Morning
Imagine it in as much detail as possible. Write it down on a piece of paper or in your journal so that you can come back to it and reshape it.
You may be wondering why I’m asking you to do such a small task. But knowing what you want is crucial to being able to get there. Today’s task is about where you want to go, and not so much about how to get there. Keep working on this so that you’re ready for tomorrow’s task – which will be more about how to get there.
If you’d like some inspiration, my morning routine looks something like this. I purposefully haven’t added any times as I don’t want us to focus on how to build the
Walk, yoga, read, journal, meditate
These are my five ingredients for a magic morning of productivity, and a day of delivering. I know that if I follow through with these 5 activities, I’ll be set up in my optimal frame of mind and that I’ll be feeling good. I will then be able to work hard and deliver on my project and writing deadlines. Without doing this, I’m not as effective, I’m not running on my optimal output and I’m not feeling so positive.
