When your target audience searches for answers, they will see the title of your page or blog post. Writing eye-catching and appealing titles will encourage your audience to click through to your site. Using the right keywords within the first three words, creating a remarkable URL, using H1 header tags and putting a focus on what the content is about, all helps.
Here’s what you need to know about using your keyword in your title:
Don’t get smart – don’t try to use puns or do some other kind of smart trick in the title. They aren’t a great place to do it, as sometimes your readers won’t even get the joke. When readers click, they want to be taken to information that follows through on the delivery promise that you made them in the title. There’s no doubt that you’ve clicked through to information that promised one thing but delivered another. People don’t like it, and they will ‘run away’ from your site if you do it to them. The title should be a reflection of what the content is about.
Hook Them In – The title needs to attract their attention and reel them in enough to want to click. However, it also needs to be honest. By using honesty, you’re telling your audience that they can trust you – very important! If they click through to discover what you promised them, then they are likely to trust you enough to click through again.

Add the Keywords – remember to add the keywords to the title. They need to be in the first three words at the beginning so that the search engines will understand the importance of it. Also, it will make it clear to your audience what the blog post or content is about.
The Right Topic – of course, you need to choose a topic that your audience is interested in. No matter how well you optimise the title, if your audience does not find the topic relevant, they won’t click through. This is why it’s important to understand your audience on an almost intimate level.
Give them the benefits – why should they read the content? If you tell them what they will learn and even why the need to learn it, that will help to get them to click. For example, if you are sharing a hack with them that will save them time, then that’s one big benefit there for them.
Back Up Claims Made Within the Content – providing a source of any stats you use will help to build trust. For example ‘SEO report states using this method increases click through by 50%’, use the source of where you found that information. Your audience will take you more seriously and will trust you more.
Use Numbers Within the Title – Using stats is always appealing to readers. They like information to be credible Quantifying how many tips you are going to share or using some other percentage can help increase open rates by over 30%.
Provide the answers – creating content that is awesome is the biggest key to success. Delivering great content is just as essential as writing a great title. If you don’t’ provide content that answers questions and delivers more, then your readers will lose trust in you.
By writing the title first, you can ensure that you get keywords in the right place. It will also provide you with the focus and boundaries of what you’ll be covering during the content creation process.
